BOTOX® COSMETIC

Botox® is a naturally-occurring purified protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.

After thoroughly assessing your individual concerns and facial movements, Dr. Ray injects Botox® Cosmetic with a very fine needle into select muscles, blocking the nerve signals and resulting in their temporary relaxation. Untreated facial muscles continue to contract normally in order to allow natural facial expressions. Botox® Cosmetic is ideal for both men and women of varying ages as a preventative and corrective treatment, not only for unwanted lines but to create a more rested, approachable, and youthful appearance.

Treatment Details
Botox® Cosmetic treatments typically take between 5-10 minutes, depending on the treatment area and the patient’s aesthetic goals.

Recovery & Results
​Results are noticeable within 2-3 days with maximum effect at 14 days. We recommend patients repeatedly move or contract the treated muscles 50 times during the 10 minutes post-treatment. The product monograph recommends not lying down for 4 hours after treatment; however, it is likely that patients can return to normal activities within 1 hour. To maintain optimal results, treatment is recommended every 3-4 months and varies depending on the individual. Overall skin health should always be maintained with proper home care as directed by Dr. Ray.

Used to treat:
Fine lines, wrinkles, aging, scarring (surgical, acne, injury), frown lines (vertical glabellar lines between brows or “angry 11s”) tear troughs (eye bags), marionette lines, crow’s feet, barcode lines, neck creases or bands, gummy smiles, or lip puckering. Can also be used preventatively, to lift the brow and open the eye, or to reduce the width of the lower face. Commonly used in the face, forehead, brow, temples, cheeks, and mouth.
