BELKYRA™

Belkyra™ is an individually-tailored, injectable treatment made from deoxycholic acid, a substance your body produces naturally, that permanently breaks down fat cells. We most commonly use it under the chin and around the jawline and neck to redefine the profile. The product is gently injected, where it disrupts the membranes of the targeted adipocytes and lipocytes, releasing the contents and allowing the body to naturally process the free fatty acids and glycerol.

We require a thorough assessment with Dr. Ray, who often recommends Belkyra™ in combination with treatments such as dermal filler, Botox®, and lasers for optimal results.

Treatment Details
Each treatment typically takes approximately 30 minutes, depending on the treatment area and the patient’s aesthetic goals. Dr. Ray uses ultra-fine needles in this treatment, which is known as the Allergan brand Kybella in the United States.

Recovery & Results
​Results are fully apparent within 2-3 months and are extremely long-lasting as fat cells are permanently destroyed. Most patients can return to normal activities immediately after the treatment; however, some may experience minor bruising and swelling as part of the natural healing process.

Used to treat:
​Submental fullness, chin fat, or double chin. Commonly used on the face in the chin, jaw, and neck area to improve jawline appearance. May also be used to treat small areas of fat, such as around the knee.
